Cox's Bazar (bdnews24.com) — Two youths have drowned in the Bay of Bengal at Laboni Pint beach while another is missing.
'Moktakim', 27, and 'Abid', 27, and the missing Ashiqur Rahman, 26, were washed away by waves while bathing at the beach on Friday evening with several other colleagues, Cox's Bazaar additional superintendent of police Uttam Kumar Pal said.
All of them were employees of advertising agency 'Matra', who had come to film an advertisement at the beachside city.
Moktakim and Abid were later rescued from the water but died while on way to hospital, ASP Uttam said.
Matra director Shamsul Arefin told reporters they had brought a team of 35 to shoot an advertisement. Abid was a performer in the popular musical contest Close-up One, while Ashiqur was the son of painter K G Mostafa.
